x27cast, a player app for your own media server

How it works

x27cast plays video from an x27cast media server: live streams (from a TV tuner, if the server has one) and a film library. The app ships no content of its own. You sign in to your server with the account its administrator gave you - with a password, or with a one-time code sent to your e-mail address.

The demo

A demo account is an account with only free sample videos suitable for all ages: two short open films by the Blender Foundation under Creative Commons licences and three public-domain NASA videos (see the film credits), shown as a film library and as four demo live streams. It never sees anything else on the server, cannot record and is never an administrator. Demo accounts are made by the server's administrator, for example for App Review. A server that opens its demo to everyone also lets you try it without an account: choose Prøv demoen (Try the demo) in the app.

Deleting your account

A demo account can be deleted in the app: open the account screen and choose Slet konto (Delete account). It is removed at once with its viewing history, preferences and sessions. Other accounts are closed by the server's administrator: write to support@x27.dk.
