x27cast

Watch video from your own media server on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Apple Watch.

What it does

• Connects to your own x27cast media server, which may include a TV tuner
• Live streams with automatic quality for Wi-Fi and mobile, and a programme guide when your server provides one
• Your film library, resuming where you left off
• AirPlay, Chromecast and picture in picture
• An Apple TV app with recently watched items on the Top Shelf
• Apple Watch as a remote for whichever device is playing

Content

x27cast does not include, sell or host any video. You sign in to your own x27cast server, and you only see what is on it. There is no subscription, no in-app purchase and no advertising.

Demo

A demo account shows free sample videos suitable for all ages: two short open films by the Blender Foundation, shared under Creative Commons licences, and three public-domain NASA videos of the Earth, the Moon and the Sun (see the film credits), as a film library and as four demo live streams that loop them. A demo account never sees anything else on the server.
